International Women’s Day: A Celebration of Legacy & Law
Texas General Counsel Forum cordially invites you to celebrate International Women’s Day with a special reception and screening of the award-winning historical documentary: “A Law Unto Themselves: How Women Lawyers of Dallas Transformed Law and Community – Together.”
In this feature-length film, prominent women lawyers from Dallas recount seven decades of collective struggle and triumph. From pioneering historic “firsts” in the courtroom to overhauling state and federal legislation, these women have led the charge for social change. Their stories serve as a powerful reminder of an often-overlooked legacy and a call to action: that the pursuit of equality under the law is an ongoing journey—one that relies on the strength of our community and a shared promise for a better future.
Special Guests: We are honored to welcome the film’s Executive Producers Chelsea Hilliard (Immediate Past DWLA President; Dorsey) and Kandice Walter (Immediate Past JL Turner President; Walter Legal PLLC), who will be available for a post-screening Q&A.
Award Recognition: Winner of the State Bar of Texas “Star of Achievement” Award and Outstanding Member Program Award from the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations.
Event Details: Reception begins at 2:00 PM followed by welcome remarks at 2:45 PM. The film screening begins promptly at 3:00 PM and concludes at 4:30 PM.
