Virtual CLE Program: Current Enforcement Trends in Health Care and Life Sciences

1.00 Hr CLE Available

The Forum and King & Spalding invite you to a Virtual CLE Program on Tuesday, July 25th. This CLE will address the rapidly evolving enforcement landscape in the health care and life sciences industries. The Department of Justice continues to pour resources into health care fraud enforcement and consumer protection, adding dozens of prosecutors to the Criminal Health Care Fraud Unit, the Civil Fraud Section, and the Consumer Protection Branch in recent years. At the same time, state and local authorities have become increasingly active in pursuing remedies for health care fraud and consumer-related harms. The pandemic has also transformed the health care and life sciences industries, giving rise to new business opportunities and new enforcement risks for health systems, physicians, telemedicine providers, laboratories, distributors, and life sciences companies. The panelists for this CLE will discuss recent trends based on their experience representing businesses in this space, including: telemedicine/telehealth, COVID-19 testing and products, and recent activity from DOJ’s National Rapid Response Strike Force.
