Event Description
The General Counsel Forum is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2012 Magna Stella Awards for in-house excellence in leadership and management. The 25 nominees will be honored and the winners will be announced at the awards dinner on November 8. The dinner will be held in conjunction with the Forum's 14th Annual Conference of General Counsel at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.
The Forum is a community of 600+ general counsel and selected senior managing counsel representing 350 companies. It provides its members with networking and information exchange on best practices, leadership and management. More than 100 meetings and events are held each year through chapters in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, including the annual conference in November, and the Forum Institute for Leadership in the Law (a six-day management program offered each spring in conjunction with the business school at SMU).
The Forum is privileged to have had a distinguished judging panel that selected this year's finalist and winners. Our judges are Charlie Lotter (retired GC, J.C. Penney), John Glancy (retired GC, Holly Corp), Mike Godfrey (GC, Texas A&M University Health Services Center), Mike Nichols (retired GC, Sysco Inc.) and Elaine Whitbeck (SVP, CLO, GC & Corp Secretary, Alcon Laboratories, Inc.).
